Howspot

Who:

Tightrope Interactive wanted to create Howspot, a revenue generating tutorial website that provides how-to instructions on ways to do different tasks and use different software. After reading the how-to tutorials, users have the option to download the software that was matched to what they wanted to learn. For instance, if you wanted to learn how to type you could click on the how to type tutorial page on Howspot, read the instructions on how to type and if you were interested in purchasing Tux Typing, a learn to type software, you could click on the Tux Typing link at the bottom of the page to download and purchase it.

What:

I worked collaboratively with the team at Tightrope to arrive at a good design solution. Tightrope was looking for a clean, easy to use, user-friendly design to showcase Howspot’s diverse array of technology tutorials. Through my designs, I sought to create a website that was simple to use, yet visually compelling.

How:

The design was created from scratch. As the sole designer on the project team, I worked on all facets of the design from concept, design to coding build out. I worked on the following:

  • Concept
  • Research
  • Sketches
  • Wireframes
  • Visual Design and Branding - colors, typefaces, imagery, logo design and layout
  • Front End Development of site in HTML/CSS in WordPress CMS
  • (Note: the homepage carousel animation and some Wordpress capabilities were handled by the Web Developer.)
  • Link to website
