Readerfy

Who:

Readerfy is an online book club website where a community of book lovers can discuss books remotely from the comfort of their own homes on their own time.

What:

Book clubs are a great way for people who enjoy books to get together and discuss a specific book in person. However, it can be hard to accommodate people who have busy schedules or for people who live far away to participate in monthly book club discussions during specific times and at specific physical locations. The main goal of Readerfy is to create an online book club experience where people can discuss books on their own time in a monthly book club format, recommend books to each other and connect with other book lovers online.

How:

Readerfy is a personal project of mine. I am an avid reader of books and enjoy discussing books I’ve read with others. I currently belong to several in-person books clubs and enjoy the lively book discussions that they entail. I appreciate that the book clubs I belong to would suggest books to read for the monthly book club discussion that I may not have found or read on my own. I am interested in sharing the book club experience with others online by creating a website that makes it easier for people to connect with one another to discuss and recommend books in a curated, visually engaging format. Readerfy is currently not a live and working site at this stage. I have conducted the user research and created the sitemap, task flows, wireframes and visual designs for this project. I both conceived of and designed the project from scratch and worked on all phases of the design from concept, research to final design prototype. I worked on the following:

  • Concept
  • Project Brief
  • Competitive Analysis
  • User Survey
  • Personas/Scenarios/User Stories
  • Site Map
  • Task Flows
  • Sketches
  • Wireframes
  • User Testing
  • Visual Design and Branding - colors, typefaces, imagery, logo design and layout.

(Please note that not all of the pages in the InVision website prototype are working yet. To enter into the site and access the other pages, first click on the "Log In" link at the top right corner of the homepage. If you click on a link on one of the pages and it's not working, that means the mock up has not been posted to InVision yet.)
